Professor Maskin Receives Beijing Great Wall Friendship Award from the government of Beijing. 

In order to appreciate and commend foreigners for their outstanding contribution to Beijing's economic and social development and their dedication at work, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality established the Great Wall Friendship Award in 1999, which is the highest honor granted by Beijing to foreign nationals in the city. So far 191 foreigners from 30 countries have won the award.
