Kunal Sangani awarded Padma Desai Prize
Kunal Sangani has been awarded the Padma Desai Prize in Economics. This annual prize is awarded by the Harvard Department of Economics Graduate Instruction Committee for exemplary graduate student research. Kunal Sangani is a macroeconomist interested in inflation, productivity, and firm behavior. His research explores questions such as why firms' profit margins are trending upward over time and how movements in commodity prices are passed through to consumers. He answers these questions using a combination of empirical methods with detailed micro-data and economic theory. Sangani will spend the upcoming academic year as a postdoctoral fellow at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Following his fellowship, he will join the economics department at Northwestern University as an Assistant Professor.
