The Best Young Economist Award, by Le Monde and Le Cercle des Économistes, recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of French economists under the age 41. Among scholars to whom this prize has been awarded in the past are Thomas Piketty, Esther Duflo, Emmanuel Saez, and Harvard colleagues Xavier Gabaix and Emmanuel Farhi.

Stefanie Stantcheva is Professor of Economics at Harvard University. She is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a researcher at the Center for Economic Policy Research, and a member of the Economic Analysis Council in France. She is a graduate of Cambridge, École Polytechnique, National School of Statistics and Economic Administration, Paris School of Economics. Stefanie received her PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
