Undergraduate Economics Award Winners Announced

Justin Katiraei ’15, Benjamin Sprung-Keyser ’15, Jacob Dorabialski ’15, and Bob Wu ’15 are all prize winners chosen for their theses and academic performances.

The various prizes and their award winners for 2015 are:

Allyn A. Young Prize - Justin Katiraei ’15 (pictured top left), for his thesis entitled, "The Mirage of Cyclical Slack:  Recent Trends in the U.S. Labor Force Participation." The prize is awarded annually to an undergraduate concentrating in Economics who submits an outstanding honors thesis "of summa quality." 

John H. Williams Prize - Benjamin Sprung-Keyser ‘15 (top right). The Williams Prize is awarded annually by the Department of Economics to the honors senior graduating with the best overall record. 

Morris Kronfeld Prize - Jacob Dorabialski ‘15. The Kronfeld Prize is presented each year to the graduating senior in the Department of Economics who has shown the greatest academic improvements during his/her undergraduate years. 

Seymour E. and Ruth B. Harris Prize for Honors Thesis in Economics - Bob Wu ’15 (bottom), for his thesis entitled, "Top-Down Down Under:  Evaluating the Impact of Top-Down Interventions in Australian Indigenous Communities with Evidence from the Northern Territory Emergency Response." The Seymour E. and Ruth B. Harris Prizes are awarded to "two Harvard College seniors who write outstanding Honors Theses, one in Economics and the other in another Social Science."

All prize winners receive a cash award and $75 in books of their choice. Congratulations go to all!
