Roland Fryer Awarded 2015 Bates Clark Medal

Harvard Econ’s own Roland G. Fryer, Jr., was named the 2015 recipient of the John Bates Clark Medal. The American Economic Association (AEA) awards the prize each year to the "American economist under the age of forty who is judged to have made the most significant contribution to economic thought and knowledge".

Fryer, 37, was awarded for his work on economics, education and racial inequality. He is the Henry Lee Professor of Economics at Harvard University, where he teaches economics classes on education and reform in America and social economics. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and founder and faculty director of the Education Innovation Laboratory at Harvard.
