Prof. Amartya Sen to Lecture & Receive Honorary Degree at Emory University

Amartya Sen, the Thomas W. Lamont University Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University, will deliver a lecture on global security at Emory University at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2016 before he receives an honorary degree at Emory's Commencement on May 9.

Professor Sen's lecture is a part of the Milton and Virginia Kafoglis Economics Nobel Laureate Lecture Series, sponsored by Emory University's Department of Economics.  

 

Amartya Sen is Thomas W. Lamont University Professor, and Professor of Economics and Philosophy, at Harvard University and was until 2004 the Master of Trinity College, Cambridge.  He is also Senior Fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows.  Earlier on he was Professor of Economics at Jadavpur University Calcutta, the Delhi School of Economics, and the London School of Economics, and Drummond Professor of Political Economy at Oxford University.
